Route planner — the whole holiday

List your stops in order — I'll split the driving into daily legs and suggest overnight stops along the way.

Trip settings

Only the places are needed. Everything below is optional and starts from a useful value.

2 h8 h14 h
days

Saved and shown while you navigate. Campeur does not route by them, but warns when your rig exceeds the limits of the country you enter. Weight is shown only: no country in our material sets a weight limit that binds a private rig.

How the planner works

Set how many nights you stay at each stop. I split the driving between stops into daily legs within your max driving time and suggest an overnight on the way, preferably a campsite that takes your vehicle according to OpenStreetMap. Two places out of three say nothing about it, so check the suggestion before you drive. Then the trip is totalled against your holiday length, and the route is drawn on the Map tab.

Improve the map

Every pin and road here comes from OpenStreetMap — a free, open map that anyone can edit. If an aire, campsite or dump station is missing, wrong or has closed, you can fix it, and the change flows back here at the next data update. Here's how.

! Quickest: leave a Note

  1. Open openstreetmap.org and find the spot.
  2. Click the speech-bubble icon (right toolbar) to add a Note — no account needed.
  3. Describe what's wrong or missing (e.g. "dump station here, 3 €") and post it. A local mapper picks it up.

Edit it yourself

  1. Create a free account on openstreetmap.org.
  2. Find the place, click Edit — the beginner-friendly iD editor opens in the browser.
  3. Drop a point and pick a preset: Caravan/RV Site, Campsite or Sanitary Dump Station.
  4. Fill in what you know — name, fee, capacity, opening hours, whether there's a dump station.
  5. Save with a short comment (e.g. "added aire, visited July 2026").

Useful for campers

  • Aire / stopovertourism=caravan_site
  • Campsitetourism=camp_site
  • Dump stationamenity=sanitary_dump_station
  • Feefee=yes/no, charge=…
  • Access / barriers — a closed barrier=gate or access=private tells others whether they can drive in.

Ukraine

Cap in the app: 80 km/h.

Speed

80 km/h everywhere outside built-up areas, motorway included, for легковим автомобілям з причепом. The caravan has no word of its own in the ПДР: п. 1.10 makes every vehicle built to travel only in connection with another a причіп, with no requirement of goods or weight. 50 within built-up areas (п. 12.4), 20 in residential and pedestrian zones (п. 12.5). Without a trailer, п. 12.6 ґ) applies: 130 on a road signposted 5.1, 110 on a road with separated carriageways, 90 on other roads. The trap is п. 12.7 with its 50 — that concerns буксирування, the towing of another vehicle, not a coupled trailer. The road authority may raise the limit by sign (п. 12.8), but п. 12.9 б) forbids exceeding the vehicle limit.

Dimensions — 2.6 and 22 metres, and no limit at all for the caravan

Ukraine breaks the pattern in three ways at once. The width is 2.6 m, which is the highest general width in the whole section together with Sweden's. The outfit may be 22 m, second longest after Sweden. And the caravan has no length limit of its own at all — the dimensions table sets twelve metres on a lorry and nothing on a trailer.

The dimensions stand in point 22.5 of the traffic rules, which are adopted by the government, not by parliament. The point's opening decides the reach:

"Транспортних засобів та їх составів" — vehicles and their combinations. The width and the height stand without any category in front of them, exactly as in Croatia. And автопоїзд is defined in point 1.10 without a single commercial reservation:

автопоїзд (транспортний состав) — механічний транспортний засіб, що з'єднаний з одним або кількома причепами за допомогою зчіпного пристрою

A motor vehicle joined to one or more trailers by a coupling device. A car with a caravan is therefore an автопоїзд within the meaning of the rules, and the 22 metres apply to it.

But the length list has only four entries, and two of them are commercial vehicles. The width and the height apply to everything; the length is enumerated by category, and the categories are вантажний автомобіль (lorry), автопоїзд, автомобіль (тягач) з напівпричепом and маршрутний транспортний засіб (articulated service vehicle). There is no entry for a trailer on its own and none for a motor vehicle that is not a lorry or a service vehicle. Neither the caravan nor the motorhome therefore has a length limit of its own in Ukraine — only the outfit has one. It is e contrario, not an exception written out, but the list is exhaustive in its form: it is a table with one row per vehicle type, and those types are named.

Source: Правила дорожнього руху, постанова КМУ № 1306 of 10.10.2001, points 1.10, 22.4, 22.5 and 30.3, in the official version redaction of 9 April 2026. The dimensions table got its present wording by government decision no. 457 of 9 May 2023.

The same word, two reaches, in the same instrument. This is the cleanest example in the whole document of why the question must be asked per provision and not per country. The word автопоїзд carries the 22 metres in point 22.5 without a category restriction. But in point 30.3 a), which prescribes the orange three-lamp sign "Автопоїзд", the reach is entirely different:

а) "Автопоїзд" — три ліхтарі оранжевого кольору … — на вантажних автомобілях і колісних тракторах (класу 1,4 т і вище) з причепами, а також на зчленованих автобусах і тролейбусах

There it says вантажних автомобілях — lorries. The sign requirement therefore does not catch a car with a caravan, while the length limit does. One and the same word, two reaches, a few pages apart.

An open question that may catch a long outfit. Point 30.3 g) prescribes the sign "Довгомірний транспортний засіб", two yellow reflective rectangles 500 × 200 mm with a red border, at the rear of vehicles "довжина яких від 12 до 22 м". A Swedish outfit is often just over twelve metres. Whether the sign is required depends on whether a состав counts as a транспортний засіб, and point 1.10 defines the latter as a device intended to transport people or goods — not as a combination. At the same time the same point g) in the next paragraph speaks expressly of автопоїзди when it means combinations, which points towards the first paragraph not doing so. We have found nothing that settles the question, and publish it as open: whoever is over twelve metres should reckon that the sign may be required.

The measuring method. The height is measured expressly від поверхні дороги, from the road surface, so a roof box and bicycles lie inside it. The load's rearward projection may be at most 2 m under the dimension table's last row, and point 22.4 adds a marking duty far earlier than that: a load projecting more than 1 m forwards or backwards, or more than 0.4 m sideways from the outer edge of the front or rear position lamps, must be marked with a signal plate or flag 400 × 400 mm with red and white diagonal stripes, and in darkness with a reflector or lamp — white forwards, red backwards, orange to the side (point 30.3 z). A bicycle rack behind the caravan therefore passes both a marking threshold at one metre and a prohibition at two.

Over the limit it is the permit question, not the prohibition, that applies. Point 22.5 ends by saying that vehicles and combinations whose dimensions or weight exceed the figures may be driven under the rules for large and heavy vehicles, adopted by government decision no. 30 of 18 January 2001. The same construction as in Slovakia.

Method note. Ukraine is so far the only country in the section where the official source itself states which redaction is in force and from what date, directly in the document header, and where every amended point carries a footnote with the amending instrument's number and date. That meant no chain of amendments had to be traced by hand. Point 22.5 also contains exceptions applying under martial law and for three months thereafter, but they concern loads for defence purposes and road-repair vehicles, not general traffic, and do not change the figures above.
