Route planner — the whole holiday

List your stops in order — I'll split the driving into daily legs and suggest overnight stops along the way.

Trip settings

Only the places are needed. Everything below is optional and starts from a useful value.

2 h8 h14 h
days

Saved and shown while you navigate. Campeur does not route by them, but warns when your rig exceeds the limits of the country you enter. Weight is shown only: no country in our material sets a weight limit that binds a private rig.

How the planner works

Set how many nights you stay at each stop. I split the driving between stops into daily legs within your max driving time and suggest an overnight on the way, preferably a campsite that takes your vehicle according to OpenStreetMap. Two places out of three say nothing about it, so check the suggestion before you drive. Then the trip is totalled against your holiday length, and the route is drawn on the Map tab.

Improve the map

Every pin and road here comes from OpenStreetMap — a free, open map that anyone can edit. If an aire, campsite or dump station is missing, wrong or has closed, you can fix it, and the change flows back here at the next data update. Here's how.

! Quickest: leave a Note

  1. Open openstreetmap.org and find the spot.
  2. Click the speech-bubble icon (right toolbar) to add a Note — no account needed.
  3. Describe what's wrong or missing (e.g. "dump station here, 3 €") and post it. A local mapper picks it up.

Edit it yourself

  1. Create a free account on openstreetmap.org.
  2. Find the place, click Edit — the beginner-friendly iD editor opens in the browser.
  3. Drop a point and pick a preset: Caravan/RV Site, Campsite or Sanitary Dump Station.
  4. Fill in what you know — name, fee, capacity, opening hours, whether there's a dump station.
  5. Save with a short comment (e.g. "added aire, visited July 2026").

Useful for campers

  • Dump stationamenity=sanitary_dump_station
  • Feefee=yes/no, charge=…
  • Access / barriers — a closed barrier=gate or access=private tells others whether they can drive in.

Türkiye

Cap in the app: 80 km/h.

Speed

80 km/h on a two-lane rural road outside built-up areas, 100 on a divided road (bölünmüş yol), 110 on the motorway, 40 within built-up areas. The figures appear nowhere in plain text: the table in madde 100 expressly applies to römorksuz — without a trailer — and gives a car (M1) 50 / 90 / 110 / 120. The fifth paragraph then deducts ten: "Römorklu veya yarı römorklu araçlarda … en çok hız sınırı aynı cins römorksuz araçlara ait en çok hız sınırından saatte 10 km daha düşüktür". The deduction applies to every column, so to the built-up-area figure too. The exceptions in the parenthesis are tractors with trailers, dangerous goods and special transport — not cars.

Source. Karayolları Trafik Yönetmeliği (RG 1997-07-18 no. 23053), madde 100, the table in the version RG 2010-09-01 no. 27689 and the fifth paragraph in the version RG 2014-02-19 no. 28918. Consolidated text current up to and including RG 2026-07-03 no. 33299

Dimensions — the table that expressly does not apply to the outfit, and the ten that are deducted

Türkiye is the country where none of the speed figures for a car-and-caravan outfit is written down anywhere. They have to be calculated, and the statute itself says they must be.

The table in madde 100 opens with the reservation "yol durumlarına göre römorksuz araç cinsleri için saatteki asgari ve azami hız sınırları aşağıda gösterilmiştir" — the speeds below apply to vehicle types without a trailer. A car (M1) gets 50 within built-up areas there, 90 on a two-lane rural road between towns, 110 on a divided road and 120 on the motorway. The fifth paragraph, in the version given by RG 2014-02-19 no. 28918, does the rest:

Römorklu veya yarı römorklu araçlarda (Römork takmış LTT ile tehlikeli madde taşıyan araçlar ve özel yük taşıma izin belgesi veya özel izin belgesi ile karayoluna çıkan araçlar hariç) en çok hız sınırı aynı cins römorksuz araçlara ait en çok hız sınırından saatte 10 km daha düşüktür.

Ten kilometres an hour lower than the same vehicle type without a trailer. The paragraph does not limit the deduction to any column, so it runs through the whole row: 40 / 80 / 100 / 110. The exceptions in the parenthesis are a rubber-tyred tractor with a trailer, dangerous goods and vehicles running on a special transport permit — a car with a caravan is not among them.

That the caravan is a römork stands in the definition list and is unusually clear: "Römork: Motorlu araçla çekilen insan veya yük taşımak için imal edilmiş motorsuz araçtır" — a motorless vehicle built to transport people or goods. Most countries write only goods and force an interpretation. Türkiye writes people out. The regulation on the other hand defines only motorlu karavan (a motorhome, class SA); there is no definition of a towed caravan, and none is needed.

The dimensions: madde 128, in the version given by RG 2015-04-17 no. 29329.

The length list has eleven rows and none of them catches a car with a caravan. The three 18.75 rows are called Mafsallı (Körüklü) otobüslerde (articulated bus), Römorklu otobüslerde (bus with trailer) and Römorklu kamyonlarda — lorry with trailer. 22.00 applies to İki römorklu katarlarda, combinations with two trailers, and a Taşıt Katarı is in turn defined as a unit of at most two trailers. A car with one caravan is neither a bus, a lorry nor a two-trailer combination. The same gap as in Germany, the Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Belgium — but here it has been checked against the original: a search for the word Römorklu in the regulation's own Word file gives exactly three hits, the speed rule and the two 18.75 rows. There is no row for a römorklu otomobil.

Türkiye differs from Moldova and Belarus on one point worth noting: exceeding the dimensions is not merely subject to a permit, it is an obstacle to registration. Madde 128 says that vehicles with capacity above the limits "karayolu uygunluk belgesi verilemez ve bu gibi araçlar tescil edilemez" — they get no roadworthiness certificate and cannot be registered. The permit route (Özel İzin Belgesi and Özel Yük Taşıma İzin Belgesi from the Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü) is reserved for indivisible vehicles and loads in compelling and exceptional cases. A caravan that is too wide therefore does not fall into the permit track — it is not registered.
