Saved and shown while you navigate. Campeur does not route by them, but warns when your rig exceeds the limits of the country you enter. Weight is shown only: no country in our material sets a weight limit that binds a private rig.

How the planner works

Set how many nights you stay at each stop. I split the driving between stops into daily legs within your max driving time and suggest an overnight on the way, preferably a campsite that takes your vehicle according to OpenStreetMap. Two places out of three say nothing about it, so check the suggestion before you drive. Then the trip is totalled against your holiday length, and the route is drawn on the Map tab.

Improve the map

Every pin and road here comes from OpenStreetMap — a free, open map that anyone can edit. If an aire, campsite or dump station is missing, wrong or has closed, you can fix it, and the change flows back here at the next data update. Here's how.

! Quickest: leave a Note

  1. Open openstreetmap.org and find the spot.
  2. Click the speech-bubble icon (right toolbar) to add a Note — no account needed.
  3. Describe what's wrong or missing (e.g. "dump station here, 3 €") and post it. A local mapper picks it up.

✎ Edit it yourself

  1. Create a free account on openstreetmap.org.
  2. Find the place, click Edit — the beginner-friendly iD editor opens in the browser.
  3. Drop a point and pick a preset: Caravan/RV Site, Campsite or Sanitary Dump Station.
  4. Fill in what you know — name, fee, capacity, opening hours, whether there's a dump station.
  5. Save with a short comment (e.g. "added aire, visited July 2026").

75 km/h outside built-up areas, 90 on the motorway, 50 within built-up areas, for an ensemble de véhicules couplés. A car with a caravan is one: a caravane is a remorque (2.27), and a car plus remorque is a train routier (2.13).

The motorhome row stands word for word like this in art. 4 first paragraph, which measures un véhicule routier en circulation ne tractant pas une remorque — that is, the vehicle on its own:

c) pour un véhicule automoteur autre que les véhicules automoteurs visés sous

a) et b) et autre qu'un véhicule M2 et M3 (autobus, autocar) : 12,00 mètres

Points a) and b) are micro electric vehicles and bicycles and the L category respectively, so the enumeration is exhaustive: everything motor-driven that is not a bus or a light vehicle gets 12.00 m. A motorhome is un véhicule automoteur and nothing else.

Art. 4 moreover contains the turning-circle requirement: the outfit must fit between an outer circle of 12.5 m and an inner one of 5.3 m. That is a construction requirement on the caravan, not something the driver measures, and it stands here only because the article otherwise looks incomplete when quoted.

Method note: Legilux publishes the code consolidated only as PDF. data.legilux.public.lu/eli/etat/leg/code/route/20260612 answers with an Angular shell of a little over 1 kB whatever the Accept header, and the HTML variants under /fr/html/ give 404. Content negotiation leads instead to the file store: https://data.legilux.public.lu/filestore/eli/etat/leg/code/route/20260612/fr/pdf/eli-etat-leg-code-route-20260612-fr-pdf.pdf, 35 MB and 969 pages, the whole Code de la route in the version in force from 2026-06-12. It was read with our PDF reader. The text comes out with the language marking fr-FR and þÿ artefacts wedged between the words, which makes a search for whole phrases miss; the searches were therefore done on a variant with all whitespace and all fr-FR flattened out first. The earlier note that Legilux could not be reached applied to the HTML view, not to the instrument.
