Saved and shown while you navigate. Campeur does not route by them, but warns when your rig exceeds the limits of the country you enter. Weight is shown only: no country in our material sets a weight limit that binds a private rig.

How the planner works

Set how many nights you stay at each stop. I split the driving between stops into daily legs within your max driving time and suggest an overnight on the way, preferably a campsite that takes your vehicle according to OpenStreetMap. Two places out of three say nothing about it, so check the suggestion before you drive. Then the trip is totalled against your holiday length, and the route is drawn on the Map tab.

Improve the map

Every pin and road here comes from OpenStreetMap — a free, open map that anyone can edit. If an aire, campsite or dump station is missing, wrong or has closed, you can fix it, and the change flows back here at the next data update. Here's how.

! Quickest: leave a Note

  1. Open openstreetmap.org and find the spot.
  2. Click the speech-bubble icon (right toolbar) to add a Note — no account needed.
  3. Describe what's wrong or missing (e.g. "dump station here, 3 €") and post it. A local mapper picks it up.

✎ Edit it yourself

  1. Create a free account on openstreetmap.org.
  2. Find the place, click Edit — the beginner-friendly iD editor opens in the browser.
  3. Drop a point and pick a preset: Caravan/RV Site, Campsite or Sanitary Dump Station.
  4. Fill in what you know — name, fee, capacity, opening hours, whether there's a dump station.
  5. Save with a short comment (e.g. "added aire, visited July 2026").

Useful for campers

  • Aire / stopover — tourism=caravan_site
  • Campsite — tourism=camp_site
  • Dump station — amenity=sanitary_dump_station
  • Fee — fee=yes/no, charge=…
  • Access / barriers — a closed barrier=gate or access=private tells others whether they can drive in.

90 km/h on autopista and autovía, 80 km/h on carretera convencional. A motorhome without a trailer follows the car limits.

That the outfit row really does catch a car with a caravan stands in anexo II: "Tren de carretera | Automóvil constituido por un vehículo de motor enganchado a un remolque." No weight limit, no vehicle class — just a motor vehicle plus a trailer. The height limit is "Altura máxima de los vehículos incluida la carga, como norma general — 4,00"; 4.20 is in the table but only for a class I city bus.

Anexo II moreover defines the caravan in a way worth noting for the overnighting question: "Caravana | Remolque o semirremolque concebido y acondicionado para ser utilizado como vivienda móvil, permitiéndose el uso de su habitáculo cuando el vehiculo se encuentra estacionado." Being allowed to use the living quarters when the vehicle is parked is thus written into the vehicle definition. It says nothing about where you may stand — that is another question and another instrument — but it contradicts the common summary that Spanish law prohibits staying in the caravan.
