How the planner works

Set how many nights you stay at each stop. I split the driving between stops into daily legs within your max driving time and suggest an overnight on the way, preferably a campsite that takes your vehicle according to OpenStreetMap. Two places out of three say nothing about it, so check the suggestion before you drive. Then the trip is totalled against your holiday length, and the route is drawn on the Map tab.

Improve the map

Every pin and road here comes from OpenStreetMap — a free, open map that anyone can edit. If an aire, campsite or dump station is missing, wrong or has closed, you can fix it, and the change flows back here at the next data update. Here's how.

! Quickest: leave a Note

  1. Open openstreetmap.org and find the spot.
  2. Click the speech-bubble icon (right toolbar) to add a Note — no account needed.
  3. Describe what's wrong or missing (e.g. "dump station here, 3 €") and post it. A local mapper picks it up.

  1. Create a free account on openstreetmap.org.
  2. Find the place, click Edit — the beginner-friendly iD editor opens in the browser.
  3. Drop a point and pick a preset: Caravan/RV Site, Campsite or Sanitary Dump Station.
  4. Fill in what you know — name, fee, capacity, opening hours, whether there's a dump station.
  5. Save with a short comment (e.g. "added aire, visited July 2026").

Dimensions — verified from the annex, not from the law

The law delegates the figures away exactly as Portugal's code does. Liiklusseadus § 80 lg 3:

Sõiduki, autorongi ja masinrongi suurimad lubatud mõõtmed veosega ja veoseta, sõiduki, autorongi ja masinrongi suurimad lubatud massid ning teljekoormused kehtestab valdkonna eest vastutav minister määrusega.

Grepping for 4,00, 18,75 and 12,00 in the whole liiklusseadus gives zero hits. The dimensions stand in the regulation the paragraph points out:

The wordings, in order:

That the outfit really is an autorong can be shown from the definitions, not from assumptions. Liiklusseadus § 2 point 4: "autorong on ühest või enamast vedavast autost (veduk) ja ühest või enamast haagisest või pukseeritavast seadmest koosnev sõidukite ühend" — one or more towing vehicles plus one or more trailers. No goods restriction, no weight class, unlike Belgium's camion et remorque. Point 3 defines auto as every motor vehicle with at least four wheels for the transport of persons or goods, point 9 haagis as every vehicle built to be towed. A caravan is moreover expressly one of the trailer forms point 14 enumerates: the regulation's § 2 point 52 defines kesktelghaagis as a trailer with a rigid drawbar whose axle or axles lie close to the centre of gravity and place at most 10 % of the gross weight or 1,000 kg on the towing vehicle — a caravan, word for word.

Estonia therefore lands with France, Italy and Portugal: the national text is written generally about vehicle combinations and therefore catches a car-and-caravan outfit with the same 18.75 as a lorry combination. The opposite of Germany and the Netherlands, which give 18.00, and of Belgium, which gives nothing at all.

Method note: riigiteataja.ee is now an Angular app, and the old addresses answer 200 with a shell. curl against /akt/<id>, /akt/<id>.html, /aktJuurdepaasetav.html?id=<id> and /oigusakt/<id> all give the same 51,763 bytes of SPA skeleton, never the statute — the same trap as Justel, in a different guise. The real API was found by opening an act page in the browser and reading the network traffic:

The search POST body must have "status":"KEHTIVAD_KEHTETUTETA"; the web interface switches it to KEHTETUD, that is, only repealed acts, and then answers "Otsingutulemused puuduvad" to questions whose answers exist. Two searches had time to give the false verdict that the regulation does not exist before the staatus parameter in the address was read.

What was not written down. The search engines' summaries offered the right figures (2.55 / 2.60 / 18.75) with two wrong sources: a repealed tehnojärelevalve eeskiri and ERAA, a trade association for hauliers. Both are insufficient under the document's own rule. The figures stand here only now that they have been read in lisa 1 with a date and an article.
