Saved and shown while you navigate. Campeur does not route by them, but warns when your rig exceeds the limits of the country you enter. Weight is shown only: no country in our material sets a weight limit that binds a private rig.

How the planner works

Set how many nights you stay at each stop. I split the driving between stops into daily legs within your max driving time and suggest an overnight on the way, preferably a campsite that takes your vehicle according to OpenStreetMap. Two places out of three say nothing about it, so check the suggestion before you drive. Then the trip is totalled against your holiday length, and the route is drawn on the Map tab.

Improve the map

Every pin and road here comes from OpenStreetMap — a free, open map that anyone can edit. If an aire, campsite or dump station is missing, wrong or has closed, you can fix it, and the change flows back here at the next data update. Here's how.

! Quickest: leave a Note

  1. Open openstreetmap.org and find the spot.
  2. Click the speech-bubble icon (right toolbar) to add a Note — no account needed.
  3. Describe what's wrong or missing (e.g. "dump station here, 3 €") and post it. A local mapper picks it up.

✎ Edit it yourself

  1. Create a free account on openstreetmap.org.
  2. Find the place, click Edit — the beginner-friendly iD editor opens in the browser.
  3. Drop a point and pick a preset: Caravan/RV Site, Campsite or Sanitary Dump Station.
  4. Fill in what you know — name, fee, capacity, opening hours, whether there's a dump station.
  5. Save with a short comment (e.g. "added aire, visited July 2026").

Useful for campers

  • Aire / stopover — tourism=caravan_site
  • Campsite — tourism=camp_site
  • Dump station — amenity=sanitary_dump_station
  • Fee — fee=yes/no, charge=…
  • Access / barriers — a closed barrier=gate or access=private tells others whether they can drive in.

Speed

80 km/h uanset vejtype — the færdselslov gives the outfit a single figure, motorway and ordinary road alike. A Tempo 100-approved outfit: 100, but only on the motorway. The plate sits on the caravan; the car carries no plate but must meet the requirements. The 70 that often turns up in Danish contexts applies to a motorhome over 3.5 tonnes with a trailer, not to a car-and-caravan outfit.

One more rule that hits caravans in particular: the trailer may not be more than 0.35 m wider than the towing car on either side. A wide caravan behind a narrow car may therefore be illegal even if it stays under 2.55 m.
